Director, Financial Reporting

Propio Language Services is transforming communication by developing tools and technologies that make it easier and more efficient for clients to engage with the Limited English Proficiency Population to improve access to healthcare and essential services in social services, education, legal and many others.

Propio is rapidly growing and becoming a nationwide force, and we are looking to hire a highly motivated Director, Financial Reporting to join our growing Finance team. This position will be responsible for effective, accurate, and efficient handling of all aspects of Financial Reporting.

Essential Job Functions
  • Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance, the Director, Financial Reporting will be responsible for leading and completing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, covenant compliance, mergers and acquisition accounting, and other accounting functions for Propio
  • Lead the financial reporting, accounting, and bookkeeping functions for the company to ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process across subsidiaries
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders, with supporting documentation, variance analysis, and reconciliations, such that the accounting records are auditable at any time
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results across multiple entities
  • Lead the preparation of day-to-day and month end general journal entries, including complex payroll, cost of sales, and intra-entity entries
  • Lead the timely closing of financial books by working cross-functionally with the Financial Operations team (A/R and A/P)
  • Support for treasury and banking functions as needed
  • Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts for multiple legal and operational entities
  • Ensure accurate reporting of revenue based on each unique customer contract and in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare required lender covenant financial reports
  • Oversee technical accounting related to M&A activities, including purchase accounting and accounting policy alignment considerations
  • Design, document, and implement an internal control environment that ensures accurate transactional reporting
  • Establish and document policies and procedures that accelerate the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly accounting close process and protects the company from fraud risk, concentration of duties, and turnover
  • Manage compliance with local and federal authorities with respect to financial reporting and tax matters
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, coordinating audit processes, and ensuring a smooth and efficient audit cycle
  • Promote a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct reports through coaching, mentoring and by providing regular and meaningful feedback
  • Set clear, measurable goals for the Financial Reporting team and individuals
Qualifications
  • CPA and/or Master's in Accounting
  • Expert knowledge U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Minimum of 6 years hands-on financial accounting, cost accounting, and financial statement preparation experience, including 2+ years in an accounting leadership capacity
  • Hands-on knowledge of NetSuite, SAP or Great Plains financial reporting software a plus
  • Prior experience in public accounting a plus
  • Prior experience working in a Private-Equity environment preferred
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience in financial consolidations of a multi-company corporate structure
  • Must be comfortable working and leading in a multi-site and dispersed team environment
  • Experience ensuring financial processes and reporting standards comply with established company policies and procedures
