Localization Engineer
Propio Language Services is transforming communication by developing tools and technologies that make it easier and more efficient for clients to engage with the Limited English Proficiency Population to improve access to healthcare and essential services in social services, education, legal and many others.
Propio is rapidly growing and becoming a nationwide force and is looking to hire a highly motivated Localization Engineer to join our growing Translation/Localization team. The ideal candidate should be an ambitious person who is willing to learn, grow, acquire new skills, and work with a diversified team.
Responsibilities:
Partner with project management team members on defining best translation/localization process
Continuously look for ways to improve production processes and optimize workflows
Help troubleshooting requests coming from both internal production teams and clients’ users
Prepare and coordinate the machine translation training and tuning content
Create and integrate files prep into Propio TMS
Manage translation memories and termbases
Analyze websites and applications for localization
Write or edit scripts for content/data processing
Ensure compliance with both clients’ requirements and internal procedures
Keep up to date with Language Technology offerings and trends
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS/BA required in computer science or linguistics or similar
3 years minimum experience in language or content fields
2+ years hands on using on Python
Fluency in English and excellent verbal communications skills
Experience with CAT tools and translation management systems
Experience with systems integrations and APIs
Experience in machine translation management
Experience with content management systems
Familiarity with common text processing tools
Experience with scripting languages and regular expressions
Passion for language, linguistics, human language technology and AI
Excellent communication skills and experience working with large teams
